a sneak peak…

…of my & olivia’s offerings at Rope in the Rockies this year!

both offerings are centered around original chest harness patterns and the accompanying technical, aesthetic, and emotionally provocative options in semi/full suspension. my teaching approach in these offerings mirror my approach to rope: pluralistic, hands-on, and communication-based creation of intentional containers for exploration.

along with these offerings during the conference, i am available for private lessons and sessions during my time in denver. please review my offerings and inquire about scheduling. i would love to further dig into any of the content of the below offerings, as well as:

  • harness-specific tying & deep dives

  • larger-body harness & tying modifications

  • predicaments/stress positions

  • body bamboo & lashing

  • dynamic transitions ("shape-making")

  • advanced upline management (scrunching & accouterments)

offering 1: Elbows-Crossed Harness & Torques-n-Torsions

level: Intermediate to Advanced

students requirementsRiggers must be able to tie suspendable upper and lower body harnesses, and attach/manage multiple suspension uplines with upper and lower lockoffs. This class is designed around the Elbows-Crossed chest harness, but any chest harness loadable from back/side/front is acceptable. Bottoms should be able to manage their bodies in suspension, and communicate rigger feedback in real-time.

equipment: Suspension-grade point (bamboo, pipe, ring), full suspension kit (10-15 ropes, carabiners, straps, etc), Cutting Tool

introduction

This class is a combination deep-dive into torques with rope and the torsions that come as a result of them. After learning to tie Soft Daddy’s Elbows-Crossed Harness, this class focuses on the rope/harness placement, load point, and height leverage options, to create dynamic and intense yet sustainable torsions.

This class focuses on the functional and aesthetic options available when tying torsion-centered rope in semi/full suspensions. We will cover the intrinsic components of torsion rope play from proprioception, breathwork and spine protection, to breath play. We’ll also dig into the emotional capacity torsion rope play can hold for the bottom.

agenda

Part 1: Elbows-Crossed Harness Instruction (20m)

Part 2: Torque & Torsion Discussion & Demo Suspension (45m)

Part 3: Class Concepts Application (70m)

Part 4: Regroup & Questions (15m)

offering 2: Void TK & the Artistry of Tying Bigger Bodies

level: Intermediate to Advanced

students requirements

Riggers must be able to tie suspendable upper and lower body harnesses, and attach/manage multiple suspension uplines with upper and lower lockoffs. This class is designed around the Void TK chest harness, but any chest harness loadable from back/side/front is acceptable. Bottoms should be able to manage their bodies in suspension, and communicate rigger feedback in real-time.

equipment: Suspension-grade point (bamboo, pipe, ring), full suspension kit (10-15 ropes, carabiners, straps, etc), Cutting Tool

introduction:

Designed for intermediate to advanced tying pairs, we’ll explore how to safely lift & handle bigger bodies, adapt harness design, structure, and tension to support more weight while maintaining comfort and aesthetics, and managing uplines and weight distribution to create dynamic experiences and shapes, all while centering play, emotion, and beauty.

This class focuses on the technique and artistry of tying, lifting, and suspending bigger bodies. The term “bigger bodies" can mean many things, in this instance “bigger bodies” means: fat, tall, beefy/meaty, bottoms; but it could also mean: you are a smaller rigger and everyone you tie is a “bigger body” to you! This demonstration will center around the construction and use of the Void TK Chest Harness, but partners are welcome to use any suspendable chest harness that works best for them.

agenda

Part 1: Void TK Harness Instruction (25m)

Part 2: Artistry & Load Management Discussion & Demo Suspension (40m)

Part 3: Class Concepts Application (70m)

Part 4: Regroup & Questions (15m)
